It's arguable that Niall Horan is one of the biggest stars in the world right now, but that doesn't mean there's isn't somewhere on the planet where he can just feel like a normal human being. The former One Direction crooner said that place is home in Ireland. Unfortunately, he has only spent about six days in the past year in his hometown of Mullingar, but it sounds like whenever he's back he definitely doesn't get any kind of royal treatment. And that is exactly what he loves about it.
Niall chatted with Shortlist magazine and said, "No one blows smoke up my a-- at home. All my schoolmates, friends from Ireland, I fall right back into that group, and I don't feel like Famous Niall Horan...I live half and half between London and LA. Last year I think I spent less than six days in Ireland, which is nuts. I spent the first 16 years of my life there and now I can barely do a week."
It's pretty cool that Niall's friends keep him grounded – not that he's super egotistical, but being in the biggest band in the world for the last six years can make you believe you're pretty freaking awesome. While he is really freaking awesome, Nialler obviously likes when the attention is off of him, his career and what he's done with his life. Just because he's seen and done some pretty crazy things doesn't mean he doesn't want to talk about what his old friends have been up to.
While Ireland might be a safe haven, his situation in London doesn't seem half bad either. Niall admits that the people there don't make a big deal over his presence – something we're beginning to notice that he likes. The "Too Much To Ask" singer said, "In London people don't really pay attention to me – in a good way. I'm not saying everyone should know who I am, but I go on the Tube, or walk down the street, absolutely no problem."
One thing I've gathered, I should probably never move to London because I would pay attention to Niall, I would most likely follow him on the Tube or ask for a selfie while he's walking down the street. #SorryNotSorry
